Net up 6% largely gained by higher sales

Standalone net sales (including other operating income) of Cords Cable Industries for the quarter ended Jun 2023 has increased 9.82% to Rs 135.26 crore. Operating profit margin has declined from 7.40% to 7.35%, leading to 8.99% rise in operating profit to Rs 9.94 crore. Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 80.67% to 80.53%. Employee cost increased from 4.72% to 5.13%. Other expenses fell from 7.09% to 6.74%.

Other income up 47.62% to Rs 0.62 crore. PBIDT rose 10.69% to Rs 10.56 crore. Provision for interest up 18.62% to Rs 6.18 crore.

PBDT rose 1.15% to Rs 4.38 crore.

Profit before tax grew 2.07% to Rs 2.47 crore. Provision for tax was expense of Rs 0.62 crore, compared to Rs 0.68 crore. Effective tax rate was 25.10% compared to 28.10%.

Profit after tax rose 6.32% to Rs 1.85 crore.
