Revenue Up 75.3% YoY, PAT up 56.6% YoY in Q4FY2023

Quarter ended March 2023 compared with Quarter ended March 2022.


Net sales (including other operating income) of Satia Industries has increased 75.33% to Rs 520.64 crore.  Sales of Paper segment has gone up 76.38% to Rs 520.30 crore (accounting for 82.65% of total sales).  Sales of Agriculture segment has gone down 82.66% to Rs 0.34 crore (accounting for 0.05% of total sales).  Sales of Co Generation segment has gone up 104.42% to Rs 108.89 crore (accounting for 17.30% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales rose Rs 53.27 crore to Rs 108.89 crore.  

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has slumped 39.13% to Rs 26.66 crore.  PBIT of Paper reported loss of Rs 15.18 crore compared to profit of Rs 23.52 crore.  PBIT of Agriculture segment rose 120.20% to Rs 2.00 crore (accounting for 7.51% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Co Generation segment rose 105.66% to Rs 39.84 crore (accounting for 149.44% of total PBIT).  

PBIT margin of Paper segment fell from 7.97% to 2.92%.  PBIT margin of Agriculture segment rose from 46.27% to 587.53%.  PBIT margin of Co Generation segment rose from 36.37% to 36.59%.  Overall PBIT margin fell from 12.51% to 4.23%.  

Operating profit margin has jumped from 19.39% to 26.15%, leading to 136.49% rise in operating profit to Rs 136.17 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 48.81% to 39.56%.   Purchase of finished goods cost fell from 2.36% to 0.66%.   Employee cost increased from 5.35% to 5.70%.   Other expenses rose from 24.67% to 27.83%.   

Other income fell 58.32% to Rs 2.78 crore.  PBIDT rose 116.26% to Rs 138.95 crore.  Provision for interest up 18.11% to Rs 9.98 crore.  Loan funds declined from Rs 442.71 crore as of 31 March 2022 to Rs 434.71 crore as of 31 March 2023.  Inventories rose to Rs 159.65 crore as of 31 March 2023 from Rs 146.67 crore as of 31 March 2022.  Sundry debtors were higher at Rs 190.44 crore as of 31 March 2023 compared to Rs 106.46 crore as of 31 March 2022.  Cash and bank balance rose to Rs 18.43 crore as of 31 March 2023 from Rs 12.71 crore as of 31 March 2022.  Investments declined from Rs 7.46 crore as of 31 March 2022 to Rs 6.52 crore as of 31 March 2023.  

PBDT rose 131.13% to Rs 128.97 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 448.88% to Rs 112.3 crore.  Fixed assets declined from Rs 892.47 crore as of 31 March 2022 to Rs 839.36 crore as of 31 March 2023.  Intangible assets declined from Rs 2.47 crore to Rs 2.20 crore.  

Profit before tax down 52.83% to Rs 16.67 crore.  Provision for tax was credit of Rs 29.61 crore, compared to debit of Rs 5.78 crore.  Effective tax rate was negative 177.62% compared to 16.36%.

Profit after tax rose 56.56% to Rs 46.28 crore.  

Equity capital stood at Rs 10.00 crore as of 31 March 2023 to Rs 10.00 crore as of 31 March 2022.  Per share face Value remained same at Rs 1.00.  

Promoters’ stake was 51.79% as of 31 March 2023 ,compared to 51.79% as of 31 March 2022 .  

 


Full year results analysis


Net sales (including other operating income) of Satia Industries has increased 111.44% to Rs 1,883.74 crore.  Sales of Paper segment has gone up 112.15% to Rs 1,882.74 crore (accounting for 83.08% of total sales).  Sales of Agriculture segment has gone down 61.58% to Rs 1.01 crore (accounting for 0.04% of total sales).  Sales of Co Generation Division segment has gone up 134.64% to Rs 382.30 crore (accounting for 16.87% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales rose Rs 162.93 crore to Rs 382.30 crore.  

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has jumped 51.29% to Rs 218.70 crore.  PBIT of Paper segment rose 5.91% to Rs 73.11 crore (accounting for 33.43% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Agriculture segment fell 44.10% to Rs 3.33 crore (accounting for 1.52% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Co Generation Division segment rose 109.02% to Rs 142.26 crore (accounting for 65.05% of total PBIT).  

PBIT margin of Paper segment fell from 7.78% to 3.88%.  PBIT margin of Agriculture segment rose from 227.40% to 330.86%.  PBIT margin of Co Generation Division segment fell from 41.77% to 37.21%.  Overall PBIT margin fell from 13.72% to 9.65%.  

Operating profit margin has jumped from 20.72% to 21.86%, leading to 123.01% rise in operating profit to Rs 411.76 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) increased from 43.57% to 46.16%.   Purchase of finished goods cost rose from 0.81% to 1.27%.   Employee cost decreased from 6.72% to 4.85%.   Other expenses fell from 28.16% to 25.92%.   

Other income fell 45.55% to Rs 14.06 crore.  PBIDT rose 102.33% to Rs 425.82 crore.  Provision for interest up 60.79% to Rs 35.18 crore.  Loan funds declined from Rs 442.71 crore as of 31 March 2022 to Rs 434.71 crore as of 31 March 2023.  Inventories rose to Rs 159.65 crore as of 31 March 2023 from Rs 146.67 crore as of 31 March 2022.  Sundry debtors were higher at Rs 190.44 crore as of 31 March 2023 compared to Rs 106.46 crore as of 31 March 2022.  Cash and bank balance rose to Rs 18.43 crore as of 31 March 2023 from Rs 12.71 crore as of 31 March 2022.  Investments declined from Rs 7.46 crore as of 31 March 2022 to Rs 6.52 crore as of 31 March 2023.

Profit before tax grew 49.61% to Rs 183.51 crore.  Provision for tax was credit of Rs 8.66 crore, compared to debit of Rs 21.99 crore.  Effective tax rate was negative 4.72% compared to 17.93%.

Profit after tax rose 90.89% to Rs 192.17 crore.  

Equity capital stood at Rs 10.00 crore as of 31 March 2023 to Rs 10.00 crore as of 31 March 2022.  Per share face Value remained same at Rs 1.00.  

Promoters’ stake was 51.79% as of 31 March 2023 ,compared to 51.79% as of 31 March 2022 .  

Cash flow from operating activities increased to Rs 282.10 crore for year ended March 2023 from Rs 159.57 crore for year ended March 2022.  Cash flow used in acquiring fixed assets during the year ended March 2023 stood at Rs 202.96 crore, compared to Rs 218.96 crore during the year ended March 2022.
