On BSE, 5,850 shares were traded in the counter compared with average volume of 939 shares over the past two weeks.

The stock hit a high of Rs 60 and a low of Rs 58 so far during the day.

Avantel's net profit surged 103.4% to Rs 1.79 crore on 78.1% increase in net sales to Rs 13.39 crore in Q4 March 2011 over Q4 March 2010.
