In a regulatory filing, SJVN statedthat the first unit of 30 MW capacity of 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric Project (NMHEP) in Uttarakhand has achieved the commercial operation date (COD).
The unit has achieved this COD after going through testing and synchronization with national grid. With this achievement, the company has now furthered its total generation capacity to 2,122 MW from 2,091.50 MW.
The company said that the 60 MW NMHEP is run of the river project located on river tons, a major tributary of river Yamuna in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand with two generating units of 30 MW each. The project has been completed within a time period of six years from the award of the civil works in 2017 despite the difficult times of the global pandemic COVID-19.
The second unit of the project is also expected to be commissioned within this month. The project will generate 265.5 million units of electricity annually and the power will be evacuated through 37 km long 220 KV transmission line from Bainol to Snail, it added.
SJVN is an Indian public sector undertaking having business interests in hydro, thermal, solar, wind and in power transmission & power trading. It is a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The company's consolidated net profit declined 1.3% to Rs 439.64 crore in Q2 FY24 as against Rs 445.44 crore in Q2 FY23. Net sales fell marginally to Rs 878.36 crore in Q2 FY24 from Rs 878.48 crore reported in the same period a year ago.
Shares of SJVN gained 1.21% to settle at Rs 82.20 on Friday, 24 November 2023.
