Coal India Ltd lost 4.11% today to trade at Rs 333.8. The S&P BSE Energy index is down 0.74% to quote at 8699.41. The index is up 3.74 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd decreased 2.45% and Sanmit Infra Ltd lost 2.04% on the day. The S&P BSE Energy index went up 0.93 % over last one year compared to the 7.8% surge in benchmark SENSEX.

Coal India Ltd has added 6.88% over last one month compared to 3.74% gain in S&P BSE Energy index and 0.79% rise in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 29345 shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 4.61 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 359.8 on 15 Nov 2023. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 207.7 on 27 Mar 2023.
