NTPC Ltd gained for a fifth straight session today. The stock is quoting at Rs 148.5, up 0.95% on the day as on 12:44 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is down around 0.03% on the day, quoting at 16053.85. The Sensex is at 53797.69, down 0.17%. NTPC Ltd has dropped around 1.92% in last one month.

Meanwhile, Nifty Auto index of which NTPC Ltd is a constituent, has dropped around 1.58% in last one month and is currently quoting at 25098.45, down 1.27% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 81.22 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 192.99 lakh shares in last one month.

The benchmark July futures contract for the stock is quoting at Rs 148.55, up 0.95% on the day. NTPC Ltd is up 22.98% in last one year as compared to a 1.26% spurt in NIFTY and a 26.91% spurt in the Nifty Auto index.

The PE of the stock is 8.85 based on TTM earnings ending March 22.
