Revenue from operations tumbled by 20.52% to Rs 242.35 crore in Q4 FY22 from Rs 304.91 crore posted in Q4 FY21. On a sequential basis, net sales rose 2.04% to Rs 242.35 crore in Q4 FY22 over Q3 FY22.
The company said that its engines sales for Q4 of current fiscal at 23,937 units remained lower by 29% compared to 33,831 units sold during corresponding quarter of last year. However, despite this degrowth, this is company's second best Q4 performance in terms of sales volume and profit.
Profit before tax (PBT) slumped 33.23% to Rs 29.18 crore in Q4 FY22 from Rs 43.70 crore posted in Q4 FY21. The commodity prices witnessed further hike during the quarter and impact was mitigated to the extent possible by aggressively focusing on operational efficiencies.
Operating profit for Q4 FY22 stood at Rs 31.10 crore as against last year's operating profit of Rs 46.18 crore, recording a 32.65% Y-o-Y decline.
On a full year basis, the company reported a 18.29% increase in net profit to Rs 109.47 crore on a 15.36% rise in net sales to Rs 1,138.15 crore in FY22 over FY21.
Meanwhile, the board of directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 80 per share for the financial year ended 31 March 2022.
SEL is into manufacturing and supplying of diesel engines in the range of 22 HP to above 65 HP. It also manufactures hi-tech engine components.
Shares of Swaraj Engines rose 1.05% to Rs 1,360.15 on BSE.
